Editorial Policy
This policy explains how ZebitApply researches, writes, checks, and updates every page on the site. It applies to all editorial content, including reviews, comparisons, calculators, and FAQ answers.
Sourcing standards
We rank sources in this order: company disclosures and terms; stock exchange filings and annual reports; US regulators including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission; state regulators; established financial publications; and finally consumer review platforms. A claim drawn from a lower tier is labeled as such or confirmed against a higher tier before it is published.
Every figure that affects a reader's decision, such as a spending limit, fee, down payment, APR range, or date, must be confirmed by at least two independent sources. Where sources disagree, we publish the range and say so.
Fact-checking
Before publication, every number, every date, and every claim about a company's current status is checked against the cited source. Pages covering a service that has stopped operating, such as Zebit, are re-checked at least quarterly for status changes.
Review methodology
Every provider is scored against the same five criteria: approval access for shoppers below a 620 FICO score, transparency of total cost, payment flexibility, retailer coverage, and consumer protection practices. Scores reflect the service as it actually operates or operated, not marketing claims. We do not assign star ratings without published reasoning.
Customer reviews and testimonials
We follow the Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements and its rule on consumer reviews and testimonials. In practice this means:
- We never write, buy, or invent customer reviews or testimonials.
- Summaries of public sentiment are labeled as summaries and cite where the underlying reviews came from.
- Individual reader stories are published only after we confirm the reader used the service, and they are never edited to change a rating or meaning.
- We do not suppress negative reviews.

Independence from advertising
ZebitApply earns referral fees when readers apply to partner providers. Partners cannot pay for placement, scores, favorable wording, or the removal of criticism, and they do not see content before publication. Providers that do not pay us are included whenever an accurate comparison requires it. Details are in our affiliate disclosure.
Bylines and authorship
Content is published under the ZebitApply Editorial Team byline. We do not use invented author personas or credentials.
Corrections
If you spot an error, email [email protected] with the page address and the issue. We review every report, correct confirmed errors promptly, and note material corrections with the date on the affected page.
Updates
Each content page shows the date it was last reviewed. A date changes only when the page has actually been re-checked, not when unrelated site elements change.
