About ZebitApply

ZebitApply is an independent publisher covering the former Zebit BNPL marketplace and the lease-to-own and BNPL providers that have replaced it. We are not affiliated with Zebit, Inc. or any of its former parent entities.

Why we built this site

Zebit occupied an unusual niche. It was one of the only US BNPL marketplaces built specifically for shoppers who could not qualify for a traditional credit card. When Zebit stopped operating, there was no obvious place for former customers to understand what had happened, confirm the status of their accounts, or compare vetted alternatives. This site exists to answer those questions clearly in one place.

Who we are

The site is published by a small editorial team covering consumer financial services for US readers. We write about BNPL, lease-to-own, subprime credit, and personal lending. Our editorial standards follow the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR Part 255 guidance on endorsements and testimonials, and we comply with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's expectations for advertising around credit products.

We do not publish fake expert personas. All editorial content is attributed to the ZebitApply Editorial Team.

Our review methodology

Each provider on this site is evaluated against the same five criteria:

  1. Approval access. How accessible is the provider to shoppers below the standard 620 FICO cutoff?
  2. Transparent cost. How clearly does the provider disclose fees, markups, APRs, and total cost before checkout?
  3. Payment flexibility. Early-purchase options, late-fee structure, and repayment term length.
  4. Retailer coverage. Which merchants accept the provider at checkout, and how broad is the product selection?
  5. Consumer protection. State licensing, bureau reporting practices, and dispute handling.

We do not fabricate star ratings or review counts, and we do not publish paid-for favorable reviews. If we are compensated for a referral we disclose it on the page where that referral lives and in our site-wide affiliate disclosure.

How we are funded

We earn a referral fee when readers apply to one of our partner lenders or lease-to-own providers through links on this site. Compensation does not influence our editorial scoring, our selection of alternatives, or the honest treatment of each provider's trade-offs. We cover both compensated and non-compensated options where that matters for an accurate comparison.
