Zebit Payment Calculator

Zebit financing looked free on the surface because there was no APR, but the marketplace priced the markup directly into the sticker. This calculator shows the real monthly cost, the hidden markup, and how much more a Zebit-style BNPL purchase actually cost versus buying the same item at typical retail.

How to read these numbers

The calculator above uses the public Zebit model: a down payment of about 25 percent at checkout, with the remainder spread across six monthly installments at zero stated APR. Because Zebit sourced goods wholesale and sold them at marketplace retail prices, the markup over typical retail was functionally the cost of financing. A 20 percent markup on a $600 item is $120, which is what you are really paying to spread the purchase over six months.

Why the markup matters more than the APR

Most BNPL comparisons focus on APR. Zebit had none, which is why many Zebit reviews called the financing free. The honest number is the price difference versus the same item at a mainstream retailer. If a laptop sells for $600 at a mainstream retailer and $720 in the Zebit Market, you paid $120 for the six-month plan. Treated as a loan, that works out to an effective annual rate of roughly 90 percent on the $420 you are actually financing, far above the 36 percent top of Affirm's APR range.

When Zebit-style financing still made sense

For shoppers with no credit card access, the Zebit model could still beat the alternative of paying cash all at once, missing a bill, and taking a late fee or overdraft hit. The calculator is intended to make the trade-off visible, not to say the model was always wrong. If you need a similar structure today, compare the markup math above against our picks on the Zebit alternatives page.
